Chapter 22: Natalia

Today, Lucy and I were going over to Paula's house. Her mom was gonna make us lunch, since she wanted to hear about our trip to France. It was such a happy moment for me, so I didn't mind telling it to anyone who would listen. My grandkids are gonna be tired of me talking about it.

Lucy was still acting strange, and she didn't want to talk about my trip to Paris at all. Whenever I brought it up, or showed her a picture, she would always bring up how bad Julius treated me when we first met. She pretty much had it in her head that I was shady for not inviting her. I just gave up on apologizing, and hoped she got over it. I felt bad that I was happy she didn't come. I didn't think about her once, or anything else negative while in Paris, and it felt so good. Our next trip though, I would be sure to bring her.

"So, tell me about this honeymoon," Paula's mom, Sandra smiled, as she sat down some fresh lemonade.

"Oh it was cool," I replied not wanting to say too much.

"Cool? Natalia, tell my mom how much fun we had!" Paula smiled with excitement.

I looked over at Lucy, and she appeared to be occupied with her phone. I decided to go ahead and use this time to my advantage, and tell Sandra everything about my trip.

"Well, when we first got there, we went to Disneyland and I got to see all the Disney princesses, and meet Mickey Mouse. It was so fun, I felt like a kid again," I smiled,as I adjusted Jackson in my lap. "We stayed in this really nice hotel named, Le Bristol, and it was like a mini French apartment. It was really pretty, and I have a gang of pictures if you’d like to see. Oh! And then we had dinner in the–"

"Nobody wants to hear you brag about your perfect little life Natalia! Don’t forget that Julius beat your ass about five days before the wedding, when he got out of jail!" Lucy cut in to say.

"Oh my gosh!" Sandra said covering her mouth in shock. I was so embarrassed.

"I'm getting real fucking tired of your attitude!" Paula spat.

"I don’t give a fuck what you’re tired of! Natalia tryna act like her shit is all sunshine and flowers, when we know that ain't the case!" Lucy yelled. "You weren’t there when he was cheating and dissing her every other week, I was!" she continued and jammed her finger in her chest.

"Nah, you just a hating ass bitch! That's what it is. And that's exactly why yo’ ass wasn't invited to Paris. Instead of being happy for your so called best friend, you pouting like a bitch!" Paula yelled back.

"Ladies!" Sandra yelled, and moved Paula's daughter Gabby out of her lap.

Jackson started to cry, so I hugged him tightly and kissed his cheek. After rocking him a little bit more, he finally calmed down.
